THE STORY

Reon is a Sabukhai, an elite bladesman of the Crimson Dragon. Each year, his people draw closer to annihilation as they wage war against reborn warriors possessing the bodies of the dead. Reon's only hope lies in a priestess from across the sea who holds knowledge of an ancient magic.Terru never asked to be part of someone else's war. As a disciple of the Sapphire Dragon, she is a master healer who aspires to become the next High Priestess of Komoshi. But her hopes are shattered when she is abducted by pirates and taken to Kharai. She will do whatever it takes to return home before the next High Priestess is ordained. When chance brings Terru and Reon together, they form a pact. Reon promises to give Terru passage home if she will seek to awaken the Guardian of Kharai, the Crimson Dragon. With the help of pirates who care nothing for dragons or reborn warriors, a Sabukhai of fire and a priestess of water must fight as one to save a dying land.
